Deciding whether or not a Sundynamo solar panel system is suitable for you depends on several factors such as:
- Specific energy or carbon saving requirements
- roof space available
- Location, orientation
- Shading issues
- Mains electrical connection
- Local planning issues
- Budget

Which Solar Panel System?
There are wide variety components that make up a sundynamo® solar photovoltaic system; these are supplied by Manufacturers such as Sharp Sanyo Kyocera for the panels using either Fronius or SMA for the inverters. Using our experience and we will carefully match EST Energy Savings Trust approved products to maximise output efficiency, resulting in a high quality system that will be tailored to your specific requirements. Unlike many other renewable energy devices, solar photovoltaic systems have no moving parts and therefore require minimum maintenance
Photovoltaic Panels and Tiles
Solar photovoltaic panels consist of a series of photovoltaic cells made from one of three different types of semi-conductor material. The majority of panels used by ourselves contain cells made from polycrystalline or monocrystalline silicon as these are the most cost effective. However, where there is limited available space for photovoltaic array, we can specify high effieciency panels containing so called hybrid cells, a combination of a monocrystalline silicon cell with a photovoltaic film, to maximise power output.
Solar photovoltaic roof tiles are designed to fit like standard roof tiles and are compatibles with many modern roof tiles such as Marley (Eternit) Modern, Duo Modern: Quinn: Western Slate Sandtoft: Calderdale, Calderdale Dual and are suitable for new build houses. Fitting is straight forward, the tiles simply hook onto normal roofing battens and are secured with simple screw fixings
Roof Mounted Systems
On pitched roofs, solar photovoltaic panels can either be mounted above the roof or integrated within the tiles. In above roof mounting systems, lightweight rails are fixed above the roof tiles via hooks that are secured to the roof rafters or trusses. roof integrated mounting systems, usually on new build, the panels are fixed directly to the rafters or trusses flush with the roof tiles.
On flat roofs, panels are mounted on pitched frames that are either fixed to the roof structure or ballasted. In cases where there is not a suitable roof, panels can be fitted to ground mounted frames either fixed or tracker (i.e. follow the sun direction).
